You will accrue holiday entitlement based on the hours you work. This means you are entitled to the equivalent of 5.6 weeks paid holiday each year, which is pro-rata for part time staff (subject to the maximum of 28 days calculated over a 5 day week.)
Your holiday entitlement is inclusive of any time off for bank holidays. Employees joining part way through the year will be entitled to a proportion of the annual leave worked out on a pro-rata basis.
If you leave the company you will be paid for any outstanding holiday that you have accrued. If, on the other hand, you have taken more holiday than you would have been entitled to, you authorise the Company to deduct the extra holiday pay from your final wages.
All holiday must be taken within the holiday year running 1st March to end of February each year. You cannot be paid for holidays not taken during the holiday year, no holidays can be rolled over and any unused entitlement will be lost. It is your responsibility to ensure you book time off throughout the year with your line manager.
Timings of your holidays must be authorised in advance by your line manager. Once holidays are booked and confirmed they should not be changed other than in extreme circumstances. Where possible, the company will try to meet your preferred dates.
You should not normally take a continuous period of holiday of more than two weeks.
If your return from holiday is, or is likely to be, delayed for any reason, you must contact your line manager at the earliest opportunity. Such absence will be treated as unauthorised and may be subject to investigation.
Holidays should be carefully organised, taking into account the needs of the business, and agreed in advance with your area manager. It is essential that the relief manager covering for holiday absence is made fully aware of all administrative and operational requirements of the business prior to you leaving the premises.
